Help for Outside Weather 1.6.0 on iOS 15 and later.
Weather notifications
- Open Outside while connected to the internet and select the location you want to use.
- In Notification Settings, enable daily notifications and allow the iOS permission prompt.
- Check that your settings have synced and that at least one notification time is saved. Use Retry if a sync failed.
- Use Send test notification to request a weather alert. An accepted request means Apple accepted it; check your device for the actual notification.
If an alert does not appear, check Outside's notification permission in iOS Settings, Focus, Scheduled Summary, and your connection. Delivery can be delayed or missed.
Alerts use the location and time zone last synced by Outside. Open the app after travel. Scheduled requests expire after a 30-minute sending window, and registrations inactive for 90 days are removed. Opening and syncing again restores an inactive registration.
Weather is unavailable
Check your connection, confirm the selected location, and try again. Outside shows an error when it cannot obtain a valid, recent observation. It does not substitute invented weather.
Stop notifications
Turn notifications off in Outside while online and check that the change synced. This clears the server's saved notification location, token, schedules, and comfort ranges. You can also disable display immediately in iOS Settings. See the privacy policy for retention details.
